The photographs on display depict my lifelong fascination with the colors and patinas of both the natural and man made worlds. The earthy textures of the tactile backgrounds come from my early training as a potter. The flowers, from my love of gardening and enchantment with the beauty of blossoms. This combination of elements – aged, weatherworn surfaces and freshly cut flowers, form the basis of my art.

Some of the photographs on display were taken on location in places like Mexico and Guatemala. Others are still life compositions produced in my studio. All photographs were made with a 4X5 view camera and Kodak Portra 160VC negative film. Taken by natural light, I use no filters or hand coloring. I personally print each photograph in my darkroom on Fujicolor Crystal Archive paper. They are dry mounted and matted on rag board to museum standards.
